Is Chef Marketplace a marketplace?

How do I sign up for Chef Marketplace?
Submit your application clicking here Supplier Registration, and follow the guided procedure. Get your VAT number and company certified e-mail. Registration is totally free. Selling and managing orders on Chef Marketplace has never been so simple and efficient.

The supplier's requirements?
The supplier must be regularly registered in the business register and sell products purchased daily from restaurants, pizzerias, delicatessens, bars, pastry shops, bakeries, wine shops, ... (See complete list). NO equipment. We only approve applications from suppliers who guarantee quality products, efficiency and punctuality in order management.

How do I open and set up my online store?
There are three possibilities

  1. Do it yourself (free). The procedures are very intuitive. However there are guides and tutorials.
  2. Chef Marketplace does it all (hourly rate). You give us access to the information, we'll take care of the rest.
  3. Let's do it together (free). You provide us with the information, then we upload it together.

Can I delete my account?
Anyone who wants to delete their account has the option to do so. Just send a request to our team.

Which product categories could I sell?
Food, drinks and non-food consumer products purchased daily from restaurants, pizzerias, delicatessens, bars, pastry shops, bakeries, wine bars, ... (See complete list)). NO equipment. Give your customers the opportunity to find everything they need in a single app, enrich our wide range of HORECA products with your unique and quality products.

Is it possible to ship fresh products?
Yes. With our partners we support shipments of fresh and frozen products with controlled temperature vehicles.

How do I ship my products?
Using your transport systems or our couriers to expand your coverage area and streamline your logistics.

Can I impose a minimum order?
Yes, you can do this for each product. You can also request contributions to the cost of transport based on various criteria that you decide.

Can I refuse an order?
Yes, but the decision must be justified.

How much does it cost to ship products?
The shipping cost is borne by the buyer. You establish the various contributions to transport based on the criteria you decide. We communicate the costs with our logistics partners. The buyer chooses the most suitable solution.

Is Chef Marketplace an intermediary? Does it take commissions?
NO. Chef Marketplace is neither a reseller nor an agent. We do not take commissions. We are paid for the tools that facilitate the sale.

Who pays me for sales?
You, supplier, can use Chef Marketplace's "Safe Transaction" payment tools, which guarantee collection as soon as the goods arrive intact at their destination.
You, supplier, can activate the option to receive the money outside the platform (no “Safe Transaction” service). In this case, the timing and payment methods are agreed between the buyer and seller.

Which prices should I charge?
Buyers here are all professionals, so the prices are with separated VAT and variable VAT based on the product category. Since we don't take commissions, given that managing sales/orders on Chef Marketplace involves efficiency and cost reductions, we recommend setting competitive prices in order to generate a positive chain effect in your store.

4Order management

How should I prepare the products for shipping?
Each product, based on its nature, requires specific packaging. In order to guarantee a product that presents itself well and is able to handle transport safely, we ask suppliers to pay the utmost attention to the packing process and packaging.

How do I manage shipments?
If the shipment is made via our couriers, you just need to click on the collection date and print the label. Everything else is managed automatically, including transportation documents and tracking of order status. If the shipment is managed by you, just print transportation documents and update the progress of the order

Does Chef Marketplace integrate with existing vendor management systems?
Chef Marketplace, thanks to a simple and intuitive interface, allows your management system to communicate with our platform to minimize costs and eliminate order processing errors. This way, warehouse management software, price list updating, invoicing, ...are all integrated in the cloud. No software to install.

5Payments

When will the sale amount be credited to me?
If you use Chef Marketplace's "Safe Transaction" payment tools, you are guaranteed payment as soon as the goods arrive intact at their destination. If you decide to receive the money outside the platform (no "Safe Transaction" service), the payment times and methods are agreed between you and the buyer.

6Shipping

What are the shipping times, methods and costs?
Shipping costs are paid by the buyer. At checkout the buyers find various shipping offers: both your offer and those of Chef Marketplace. They decide which offer best meets their needs (fresh/dry, times, costs).

7Billing

When I purchase a Chef Marketplace service, who bills me?
You recharge your wallet/card in Chef Marketplace from which we deduct the costs of the services purchased. At the end of the month we issue an invoice for the total amount loaded.

When I sell my products on Chef Marketplace, who does the invoicing?
You sell directly to your customers and you will give them a receipt / invoice. It is possible to completely automate this process by interfacing the data in Chef Marketplace with your management system.

Can the invoice data be wrong?
NO, because the user data is taken from the chambers of commerce and the order data has been approved by the seller.

8Returns and Refunds with suppliers

Can I write reviews?
Certainly. Your opinion matters a lot to the entire Chef Marketplace community. At the end of each order you will be asked for your level of satisfaction.

What do I do if a customer asks me for a refund or return?
You can open a chat within the order and communicate directly with the customer. Find an agreement that will bring the customer back to buy from you.

If the payment was made via the "Safe Transaction" service, then notify the Chef Marketplace administration of the amount to be refunded. Automatically, the financial institution that held the purchase money will quickly process the refund and the remaining money will go to you.

If the payment was made outside the platform (without the "Safe Transaction" service), the refund is managed by the two parties entirely outside the platform.
